Amadeus was founded by Nathalie, a Parisian-born designer whose work brings together French instinct, London individuality and a lifelong fascination with jewellery.

Drawn to pieces with character rather than perfection, Nathalie designs jewellery that feels expressive, tactile and personal — made to be worn often, layered instinctively and kept for years.

Her approach begins with the materials themselves. Vintage gemstones, pearls and recycled precious metals are chosen for their colour, texture and individuality, then reimagined through a contemporary lens.

No two stones tell quite the same story, and that sense of difference is central to Amadeus.

From Paris to London

 

Nathalie grew up in Paris, surrounded by a culture where style is often less about following rules than knowing what feels right.

After moving to London, she found a city with a very different creative energy — eclectic, independent and unafraid of contrast. The meeting of those two worlds continues to shape Amadeus today.

There is a certain Parisian restraint in the way pieces are designed, but also a distinctly London sense of freedom: unexpected colour, irregular forms, bold proportions and jewellery worn without ceremony.

The result is a collection that feels refined without being precious, and distinctive without trying too hard.

 

Designed around character

 

Nathalie’s process often starts with a stone.

Rather than searching for uniformity, she is drawn to natural markings, unusual shapes and subtle imperfections — the details that make one gemstone different from the next.

Vintage stones and pearls are selected individually and paired with sculptural forms, textured metals and considered proportions.

The intention is not simply to create something beautiful, but something with presence: jewellery that becomes part of the way you dress, move and express yourself.

Amadeus was built around a more considered way of making jewellery.

Pieces are created in small numbers, with recycled precious metals and vintage materials used wherever appropriate. The focus is on craftsmanship, longevity and making only what deserves to exist.

This approach is not separate from the design. It is part of it.

Working with materials that already have a history gives each piece another layer of character, while small-scale production allows for greater attention to detail and a closer relationship with the making process.
